As I was observing and studying the behavior of different individuals and couples, one fact became evident to me - people who make serious promises lightly are just as likely to break them. This certainly applies to dating. You can certainly say one thing about a guy who tells you how crazy he is about you a week after you met – he has either been lonely for a while and at this point any female company makes him much happier than absence thereof; or he is emotionally immature or unstable, and thus his emotions appear and disappear quickly; or ,as it unfortunately commonly happens, the guy tells you what you want to hear in order to get what he wants from you - sex.

Indeed, the “L” word coming from a guy after getting to know you – when it comes later than you expected and wanted to hear it - is a much more reliable indicator of a man’s feelings because it is much more likely to be a truthful expression of what a mature, more emotionally stable person feels towards you. Let’s face it – love is an emotion that takes time to develop. A man who is only willing to tell you that he loves you when he actually feels it is much more likely to mean it than those guys who are eager to charm you by being as sweet as they can and telling you what you want to hear.
